Reflection time

February 19th, 2011

Well I have been staring at the screen for at least an hour trying to think how to start this, what to write and justify the reasoning behind it.  Then it struck me, a fallen friend deserves to be remembered in the only way I know how.  After moving to the Stoke office I formed a friendship with one of the sales guys Matt, we sat next to each other and got on quite well.  The friendship we had was in no means different to anyone else with the exception of we both shared a passion for music and the old school rave scene.  Well I receive a phone call tonight with some devastating news, Matt passed away late on Friday night.  I am still in shock following this news as we had been planning to go to fantasia in Stoke this April 23rd.

It sounds very cliché when I say he was a good man, but he was, in fact he was a great man and a friend to everyone.  He spoke his mind, would give his last cigarette to anyone and made my transition from Telford to Stoke very easy!  Matt had a passion for music which I shared, in fact the Glasto counter you see on every page was for him.  I tend to keep my private life seperate from my work life and have never mixed the two together, the people we work with are not “chosen friends” however there are some people who make enough of an impact to befriend.  Matt was one of them people, he was someone I considered a friend, there isn’t many people that happens with.

I fear that the more I say the harder justifying this post will be so I will cut it short not without sending my heartfelt sympathies to Matt’s Family.   Matt will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, me included!

Rest in peace Matt.
