It has occurred to me very recently that you maybe able to clone modules using some of the key programing specific tools listed here although they do not advertise this perk. You see, with these programming tools, the ability to download and upload the EEPROM as well as (some) of the flash memory: it might add a lot of functionality the manufacturers do not even know they are providing people. This will take a lot more experimentation or at least comparison to cloning requirements versus key programming requirements.
The only thing is there can be multiple different flash storage modules that store VIN and immobilizer data in a automotive module then adding keys would require typically. Module cloning does seem to require the transfer of all the same data as key programming requires as well. After all... these key tools provide a way to restore modules should something go wrong when adding a key (in many cases). I would think that would mean that the key tools should have access to all Flash memory a computer would need to function.
The ultimate reality that you will need subscription based tools to provide this service means that you need to have services above and beyond just cloning or you will take a long time to recover your expenses/make money. In some ways people are already calling this kind of service as falling by the wayside for a majority of customers but more and more lately I see people wanting older, simpler cars that don't have all the problems modern vehicles have. 3-4k to fix a modern vehicle like the F-150 3.5L when it needs turbos, for example, is insane when you can pickup an older F-150 out of state that will the need for such costly repairs is almost non-existent. I mean, since I know a variety of sellers that solely bring in vehicles from out of state to sell that meet these exact criterion.
