So... I have run out of room in my case for more hard drives. On top of that, even with the GPU handling transcoding, the TS150 was really not doing it for me. See the previous article linked here: Years of talk about Unraid servers versus reality I started with a really reliable, well known, excellent case but it ultimately had limited upgradability, proprietary hard drive power supply cables/sourced from motherboard, almost zero cable management, limited access to connectors with so much going on in such a small case, etc. Obviously, value is a huge consideration to me as well as my minimum system requirements I mentioned in previous posts so I decided to move my server configuration into my full tower year old gaming rig and do something cost effective that would set be up for a better gaming rig in the future.

I swapped my 2060 into the full tower, my hard drives, and all my cables along side some inexpensive upgrades. See for more information about what happened but ultimately I was up and running with a motherboard/bios reset being all that was necessary (you have to disable the overclocked ram settings, if your old system had such thing. Hint). Migrating an unraid server is extremely easy, as advertised. Now I have a 6 core i7 (step 3 will be an i9 with the iGPU deleting the graphics card of course), 64 gb of ram, room for as many as 21 hard drives, and a 1200watt power supply.

The new system is so much better, never hangs up, never crashes, never has any issue with hardware. People talk about the
